COMMON AREAS AND AMENITIES AT THE TALLMAN HOTEL

The hotel helps to sponsor the annual spring Horticultural Happening in Upper Lake.  A feature of the event is an array of wonderful large garden sculptures by local artists placed throughout the hotel common areas.  Above is a lovely piece titled Torqued Bell by Upper Lake artist Diego Harris.

Complimentary hi-speed wireless internet is available throughout the property and wired internet connections are included in all guestrooms.

Parlor and Dining Room.  Guests are invited to relax in the comfortable parlor and dining room of the historic hotel.  The dining room features a beautiful mural of local wildlife by artist Carol Thosath.  A complimentary continental breakfast is served daily to hotel guests. Selections include house-made granola, fresh-baked scones and quickbreads, yogurts, fruit, and an assortment of juices, coffee, and tea.

Garden and Pool Area.  Wander about the gardens and enjoy the pool and spa facilities. The deep end of the pool runs lengthwise so adults can swim full laps while children play on the opposite side.  The whirlpool spa is heated year-round while the pool is heated from spring to fall.

The Blue Wing Saloon Restaurant next door is a beautifully crafted reproduction of a watering hole by the same name that stood on this site until Prohibition in the 1920s. Opened in 2005, the Restaurant is now a popular spot for local residents as well as hotel guests. It is open from 11:30 am (10:30 on Sundays) to 9:00 pm seven days a week and serves a variety of California "comfort food with a twist," together with a wide selection of cocktails, local Lake County wines and draft beers.  The restaurant features regular live music on at brunch and suppertime on Sundays, live blues bands on Mondays and background music on "Twenty Dollar Tuesdays" during which  we offer a special $20 three course special in addition to our regular menu.

Meeting and Event Space.  In addition to the garden and Hotel dining room, also ideal for parties and events, Riffe's Meeting House next to the Hotel is designed for meetings and gatherings up to 30 and theater style seating up to 40.  It's equipped with high speed internet connections, screen, projector, TV/DVD and other meeting requirements and food can be easily catered from the Hotel kitchen next door.  The acoustics are perfect, and the Hotel hosts a series of wonder house concerts each year.
